How to acquire your own sculpture?

Frequently asked questions

How do I know I’ll love the custom sculpture you make for me?

By the time you commission a work from Mainartery, you’re typically fully committed to the
style and concepts behind the work. We don’t move from one stage to the next without
full approval. Our approach has consistently turned the occasional reservation into expectation
and delight when clients grasp our ability to understand their needs.

How easy is it to work with you if I’m interstate or overseas?

Many of my (our) projects are for interstate or international clients. Communications technology makes it easy not only to talk, but also to exchange visuals and virtual mock-ups of the sculpture in development, and how it will look in your location. Where substantial and valuable works are involved, the commissioning process often benefits from an initial face-to-face meeting to cement early agreement on the scope of the project, as well as a site visit during installation.

How can I be confident that a sculpture will look and feel right in my space?

We show you detailed images of our designs and sculptures, and immerse you in a full and engaged understanding of the work you wish to acquire. We also offer a service that digitally overlays your sculpture onto photos of your proposed installation location for an accurate sense of the style and scale of the work in your surroundings.

How do you handle installation of the work?

We take responsibility for advice or actual installation whenever it is required. Smaller to medium sized sculptures usually stand on their own plinth and base. Larger works may require setting foundations or special fixings dependent on its final location. Even if we are not involved in the final installation, we often lend a consultative eye to our client’s contractor.

Do you guarantee safe delivery?

We pay meticulous attention to the handling and transport of your artwork. Our packaging is designed to withstand the most severe conditions, including falls. We also use trusted, specialist couriers. For extra peace of mind, we recommend appropriate transit insurance.

How do you guarantee your quality?

Our sculptures are made using the best processes and grades of materials so they can become legacies for the future. Providing the sculpture’s installation environment is fit for our recommendations, and that our scheduled minor preventive maintenance is upheld, there is no reason why your sculpture will not outlive you and several generations beyond.

What is your refund and return policy?

We’ve yet to receive a refund or return request in 28 years. However, in the event that you are not totally satisfied with a purchase from our range, we offer a full refund, minus packaging and shipping costs, or a credit towards another artwork.

Description

Not all gardens are created equal, and even the loveliest gardens contain underutilised empty sections that long to be brought into harmony with surrounding space.

When David and Sandra M. identified a void space in their garden, Mainartery provided a process that introduced them to a range of expertly crafted sculptural solutions. This was followed by the provision of digital imagery in which sculptures of interest were superimposed onto images of their garden.

To see a sculptural form digitally superimposed onto their garden enabled them to see the final outcome in advance of a final decision.

A superbly engineered kinetic work emerged as the solution they loved most for its ability to harmonise and enliven the void space with the smooth dynamic dance of an everchanging form. Now the void space is a point of interest much admired by their guests.

Personalising Your Garden—Uniting Art and Nature with Confidence

For many homeowners, a well-curated garden offers not just greenery but a personal statement. “Personalising Your Garden” highlights how the right sculptural choice transforms underused corners into focal points of interest. David and Sandra M. found a void in their lush landscape, unsure how to fill it. With Mainartery’s expertise, they discovered the power of digital superimpositions and carefully selected a stainless steel leaf outdoor sculpture that fused fluidly with surrounding foliage.

Making the Relationship Between Art and Nature Work for You

Gardens differ by layout, climate, and personal aesthetic. The challenge lies in finding artwork that complements your unique setting without overwhelming it. By superimposing prospective sculptures onto images of David and Sandra’s yard, Mainartery helped them visualize how each piece would appear in real-world context. From a corten steel leaf to a kinetic installation, each candidate was weighed for both visual harmony and symbolic resonance. This process of scanning alternatives fosters informed decisions: no guesswork, just tangible previews that mitigate buyer’s remorse.

Professionally Created Digital Visualisations—Informed Decisions at Every Stage

The highlight of the approach is providing customized, photo-realistic renderings that show how a particular sculpture—whether an outdoor leaf inspired stainless sculpture or a swirling abstract piece—would occupy a specific pocket of the garden. Angles, lighting, and scale are all adjusted to reflect actual site conditions. That means each aesthetic choice, from color palette to structural lines, can be fully assessed. By virtually “placing” the sculpture, David and Sandra could sense how a kinetic design’s fluid dance might animate the once empty space. Ultimately, they chose a design that gracefully caught the wind, turning a nondescript patch into a show-stopping conversation piece.

Such thorough planning underscores the necessity of collaboration between clients and skilled artisans. Rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all solution, Mainartery guides homeowners toward a sculpture that resonates on both aesthetic and emotional levels. The resulting synergy is profound: the garden evolves from a mere backdrop to an interactive environment where art and nature converge. Vibrant leaves frame metallic arcs, water features reflect polished surfaces, and visitors find themselves immersed in a multidimensional experience.

For David and Sandra, what began as an empty patch soon became a highlight. Their new sculpture adds motion, color, and a hint of unpredictability—a “living” feature that changes with the weather and seasons. Guests pause to admire the interplay of breeze and design, while the couple takes pride in a space that feels authentically theirs. Through digital visualization and careful consultation, they made an informed choice that invigorates their garden for years to come.

Ultimately, “Personalising Your Garden” proves that thoughtful curation can lift a landscape from ordinary to extraordinary. With the right process—pairing open-minded exploration, digital superimpositions, and professional expertise—a once-empty corner can blossom into an enchanting focal point, uniting horticulture, art, and personal flair in perfect harmony.
